The woolshed and adjoining jetty was built by pioneer pastoralist Price Maurice. He held a large land lease. At its peak over 20,000 sheep were shorn here and fleeces were baled and loaded onto ketches from the jetty for overseas markets. Wheat was also shipped from here.
