Pop Nominal. (381km N Sydney) Dunbogan lies across the Camden Haven River, opposite the village of North Haven, part of the Camden Haven region. The region had been settled by the Gadang Aborigines before Captain James Cook sailed along the coast in 1770. The first European into the area was the explorer John Oxley who named the inlet Camden Haven in 1818. From the 1870s onwards, timber was the main industry. The rivers and lakes were used to transport logs to mills. FESTIVALS: Camden Haven Music Festival (Apr), Laurieton Spring Festival (Oct).
