Convict-built historic buildings include St. Mathews Catholic Church and St. Marks Church of England, Lythgo's Row (formally a store), The Crown Inn (c1835), The Sheiling (c1819) and the Brooksby Homestead. Much of the freestone used in many Tasmanian structures was quarried at Pontville.
